Carlo Morelli
was born & raised in the south part of Philadelphia next to a tavern
where the music played until the wee small hours and thru his bedroom
walls. The home was purchased from Morelli’s Great Uncle Liberace. It was
there that Carlo became interested in singing. He was drawn to the daily
sounds of Sinatra, Martin, Darin and began singing on his spare time. In
1990 Carlo joined the Army but never stopped singing and in 1999 he
thrilled the large crowd in Philadelphia at the nationally televised
dedication to the huge Frank Sinatra Mural attended by Nancy & Tina
Sinatra and the wife of the late great Sammy Davis Jr.

It was a nice break for Morelli but he knew he had to separate himself from the Sinatra karaoke imitators to be taken seriously. So in 2001 Carlo auditioned for the 276th Army Band and was accepted as their lead vocalist, it was a dream come true. The training & experience Carlo receives working with the 40 Piece Military Concert Band is invaluable!

His next milestone was when he collaborated with world class drummer Michael Nigro (Al Martino’s Drummer) & childhood friend of Morelli’s. Michael is not only a great musical director & drummer but he is a certified Sinatra expert. Nigro taught Carlo the importance of being able to sing solo, w/ piano, up to big band and always employ the best musicians available.

Carlo is described by critics as a cross between a young Sinatra and a latter day Bobby Darin, audiences are sensing something special about the gifted vocalist. He has a unique presence you simply don’t find these days. Indeed, enthusiastic crowds attending a wide variety of recent appearances only attest to the irrefutable evidence that Morelli is an exciting new talent to be reckoned with.

No stranger to the spotlight, Morelli has shared the stage with celebrities and performed with some of the premiere musicians in the country. In the terrible wake of 9-11, Morelli has performed regularly as the lead vocalist for the 276th AB, entertaining Governors, Veterans and many dignitaries. Appearing recently on Philadelphia’s highly rated 96.5 Morning Show, the future appears bright for this classy artist, while upcoming projects and concerts prove that, despite changing musical styles and tastes, quality and talent endure!
